An opportunity exists for an accomplished Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of four, looking at all elements of production support through problem solving and troubleshooting, as well as supporting on proactive continuous improvements to increase capacity and reduce downtime, with a consistent eye on Safety and Quality.

Sitting on the site leadership team, the manager will play a key role in developing and supporting their team to meet their potential, establishing rigorous and consistent performance and coaching reviews, ensuring the team are mentored and further trained as required.

Key skills:

  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in a manufacturing setting open on background, though a knowledge of materials or chemistry would be beneficial.
  • Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering Materials, polymers, paper, tissue, fabric, foil, film, coating, plating, lamination, plastics all useful backgrounds.
  • Strong RCA and CI toolkit - 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, etc. and practical experience of bringing about improvement through using such techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in a reactive and fast-moving manufacturing environment with short lead times, multiple SKUs, and changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills, experienced in leading engineering teams, setting clear objectives, coaching, mentoring and developing others.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949, AS9100, NADCAP advantageous.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Most importantly, we seek a results oriented, data literate, and decisive Engineering leader who will communicate well cross functionally, will challenge the norm, constantly question and show an inquisitive nature and a true growth mindset, consistently aiming for root cause.
