A leading financial services firm based in Kent is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Lead to oversee the delivery and maintenance of critical IT infrastructure, both on-premises and in cloud environments.
You will be experienced with Windows Server, VMWare, Azure and 3rd line support issues.
The successful candidate will manage an off-shore team of Infrastructure Engineers, ensuring operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement across all systems and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a remote/off-shore team of Infrastructure Engineers.
- Oversee infrastructure operations across Windows Server platforms, VMware, and Azure environments.
- Drive root cause analysis and resolution of 3rd-line infrastructure incidents.
- Maintain, optimise, and innovate infrastructure services to align with business goals.
- Support hybrid Exchange (2016/2019) and Office 365 environments.
- Manage cloud-based infrastructure and services, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell.
- Ensure infrastructure security, working with tools like Crowdstrike and Rapid7.
- Oversee storage and backup solutions using Dell, NetApp, SAN/NAS, and HCI (e.g., VxRail/VSAN).
- Administer core Microsoft services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and file/print services.
- Support web technologies (IIS, .NET, microservices) and clustering/load balancing solutions.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience leading/managing off-shore technical teams.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server platforms and VMware technologies.
- Strong 3rd-line technical background across Microsoft, Dell, and Citrix infrastructure.
- Experience with Exchange Hybrid setups and Office 365 administration.
- Expertise in Azure infrastructure management and PowerShell scripting.
- Understanding of infrastructure security best practices and tools (e.g., Rapid7, Crowdstrike).
- Familiarity with Dell/NetApp hardware, SAN/NAS, and hyperconverged systems.
- Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
