Position Responsibilities

As a Video Journalist, you will plan and produce compelling video content for our online platforms. You will work closely with our social media team and collaborate as necessary with other departments, leveraging collective creativity and ensuring a strategic approach to content production. Responsibilities include sourcing notable and engaging stories and events to cover, developing creative briefs to serve as the foundation for video narratives, and going out to shoot footage and conduct interviews. This role will allow you to expand and showcase your editing skills as you transform raw footage into refined short and long-form video pieces. Requirements

  • Strong opinions and the ability to express them compellingly through verbal and written communication
  • Self-motivated and able to meet quotas
  • Experience in sales or a strong interest in developing sales skills
  • Understanding of digital marketing and audience engagement
  • Capable of conducting thorough research to support the creation of rankings and listicles
  • Experience in outreach or partnership roles is preferred

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
