The Division of Idaho Care Facilities has an opportunity for a Therapist (BCBA) with the Developmental Disabilities Crisis Prevention and Court Services Team in the North Hub (Coeur dā Alene or Lewiston). This position will provide assessment and multifaceted rehabilitative services to clients, families, and community and department staff. We are seeking applicants who have experience providing crisis services in correctional, hospital, institutional, and community-based settings of both voluntary and involuntary clients. This position requires an individual to be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
Some travel will be required throughout Idaho with some overnight.
This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. - Applies clinical skills to assess client and family needs and formulates assessment and therapeutic recommendations to ameliorate risk factors and increase functionally equivalent replacement behavior.
- Designs, implements, and directs clinical therapies and rehabilitation programs.
- Provides clinical case management services.
- Evaluates treatment effectiveness and client/family outcomes.
- Provides emergency, crisis intervention.
- Presents assessment results to multidisciplinary team and participates in treatment planning with multidisciplinary teams.
- Coordinates treatment programs with other service providers and community organizations.
- Provides client, family, and community education services.
- May design/implement training to department staff, families and service providers.
- Periodic after-hours rotation a few times a year are required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. - Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Typically gained by at least one year of related professional experience.
- Some knowledge of court procedures and practices. Typically gained by completion of related college course work or at least one year of professional experience that required working with court systems.
- Good knowledge of mental health and developmental disability social services/support services. Typically gained by at least one year of related professional experience that required knowledge of available resources and services.
