Correctional Treatment Specialist (Drug Abuse Treatment Specialist – Spanish)

This role functions as a Drug Abuse Treatment Specialist (DATS) within a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) federal correctional facility.
The incumbent provides direct services, including individual therapy and/or group counseling, drug education, and residential and/or non-residential treatment services. These services focus on the rational behavioral therapy model of drug abuse treatment and criminality.
Responsibilities include educating prison staff about drug abuse, drug abuse treatment, and the local prison program.
The specialist administers eligibility and psycho-social assessments to develop individual treatment plans.
Attends meetings with supervisors, other drug treatment DATSs, the unit team, etc., to share information, knowledge, ideas, and recommendations regarding drug abuse treatment participants.
All correctional institution employees, including the incumbent, are responsible for maintaining the security of the institution. These correctional responsibilities take precedence over other duties and are performed regularly and consistently.
