Founded in 1875, we are a Manufacturer, Distributor and Retailer of Building Materials throughout the UK with a network of Retail and distribution centres. We have a committed team of over 400 people supplying Building Materials to the trade and retail markets. As a business, we offer career stability & career progression. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee HGV Class 2 Driver. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in logistics and gain their HGV Class 2 licence (Category C). Full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undergo training to gain the HGV Class 2/ 7.5 tonne (Category C) licence.
  • Assist in vehicle loading/unloading under supervision.
  • Learn safe and legal operation of HGVs in compliance with road transport and tachograph regulations.
  • Deliver goods to various locations, once fully qualified, ensuring timely and professional service.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers.
  • Assist with vehicle checks, maintenance reporting, and cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence (Cat B) with minimal penalty points.
  • Aged 18 or over (due to vehicle insurance requirements).
  • Willingness to undertake HGV Class 2/ 7.5 Tonne driver training.
  • Good level of physical fitness (some lifting may be required).
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends if required.
