We are seeking a Project Engineer ā Wastewater to support the technical delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK. The position focuses on leading delivery and management of specific project elements from brief through to completion on schedule.
Primarily supporting UK Water Utility projects, the role involves working closely with project teams, clients, and Tier 1 Contractors. Opportunities may arise to contribute to Irish and international projects.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:- Prepare feasibility studies, concept design reports and detailed designs including design drawings, calculations and reports.
- Develop technical specifications and contract documents for main works and investigative contracts.
- Conduct tender evaluation and procurement processes.
- Prepare documentation for statutory approvals such as planning permissions and land acquisition/wayleaves.
- Administer contracts during construction.
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, schedules and resource allocations.
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Perform site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality and adherence to specifications.
- Prepare and review technical reports, drawings and specifications.
- Monitor and control project costs, track expenses and manage change orders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing effective risk management.
- Foster communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in wastewater engineering, including feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement and construction contract administration.
- Experience working on UK Water Utility projects, ideally for Design & Build contractors or clientāfacing consultancy.
- Strong technical knowledge of wastewater engineering principles, standards, regulations and industry best practice.
- Proficiency in designing wastewater infrastructure and use of relevant analysis and design software.
- Proven track record delivering wastewater projects of varying scale and complexity.
- Strong organisational and timeāmanagement skills to manage competing priorities and meet milestones.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
