The Couture Seamstress is responsible for the construction, assembly, and finishing of bespoke and haute couture garments to the highest standards of craftsmanship. Working closely with pattern cutters, designers, and fit specialists, the role requires exceptional hand‑sewing skills, technical precision, and a deep understanding of couture techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct couture garments from toile through final fabric, following patterns and design specifications.
  • Execute high-level hand sewing techniques including basting, fell stitching, pick stitching, slip stitching, and finishing.
  • Assemble complex garments such as tailored jackets, gowns, corsetry, and structured dresses.
  • Attend fittings, mark alterations, and implement changes with precision.
  • Work with luxury fabrics including silks, chiffons, organza, wool, lace, and embellished textiles.
  • Collaborate closely with pattern cutters and designers to resolve construction challenges.
  • Maintain couture standards of accuracy, cleanliness, and finish.
  • Meet deadlines while maintaining uncompromising quality.
