About the Role
As an Activities Coordinator, you will organise and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. Many of our residents live with dementia, so activities will need to be engaging, inclusive, and adapted to individual abilities and interests. You will play an important role in helping residents maintain independence, build social connections, and continue enjoying the hobbies and interests that are meaningful to them.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering daily activities and events that are stimulating and enjoyable for residents.
- Organising group activities, entertainment, and seasonal events within the home.
- Arranging community engagement and outings where appropriate.
- Encouraging residents to participate in activities that support wellbeing and independence.
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Supporting residents with emotional wellbeing and companionship.
- Maintaining records of activities and resident participation.
- Working collaboratively with the care team to ensure activities are person-centred and inclusive.
About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, caring, and creative, with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for older people. You will have:
- A positive and engaging personality.
- Creativity and the ability to organise enjoyable activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with older people, including those living with dementia.
- The ability to motivate and encourage residents to take part in activities.
Previous experience in activities coordination or working in a care environment is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
Requirements
- Experience in a care home or similar environment is desirable.
- Passion for supporting the wellbeing of elderly residents.

- Reliable, flexible, and committed to high standards.
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Qualifications
