Nicholas Associates are working with an established Steel Manufacturing company based in Sheffield, who are looking to add an experienced Transport Planner to their team on a permanent basis. The role will be responsible for optimising the movement of metal products within and outside the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Order books - reviewing impacts to schedules and changes
- Ensuring efficient and effective customer communication
- Dealing with Customer Approvals, Outages, Quality issues - Risk identification and mitigation
- Being the main point of contact for Customers - Customer Relationship Management
- Key interface between Customer, Supply chain and Operations
- Dealing with the management of On-Time Delivery and Arrears
- Having an understanding of Steel Manufacturing processes
- Dealing with Quality/Technical Approvals
- Stock Control
- Other duties to support business
Key Requirements:
- Preferably Degree Qualified or equivalent relevant experience
- Ideally previous experience in a customer facing role
- Planning/Scheduling/S&OP experience
- Previous experience with MRP/ERP Systems
- Previous experience with strong customer and operational focus
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships with excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working within a fast paced Manufacturing environment - ideally Engineering.
