Position: Sales Account Manager
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £30-45K, commensurate with experience
Nicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for a Sales Account Manager, to join an established client in the Sheffield area. You will be responsible for leading the Fabrication Department, driving profitable sales growth, owning technical and commercial risk, and ensuring quality, delivery, and process discipline. This role acts as the single point of accountability for Fabrication performance, bridging commercial strategy, technical validation, and operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall sales performance and profitability of the Fabrication division
- Define and drive the Fabrication sales strategy in line with business objectives
- Develop and maintain key customer relationships and strategic accounts
- Proactively identify and convert new business and complex fabrication opportunities
- Drive quotation follow-up & customer engagement
- Maintain oversight of the sales pipeline, capacity alignment, and workload balance
- Lead recovery, retention, and growth of existing Fabrication customers
- Act as the technical authority for Fabrication quotations and commitments
- Oversee technical interpretation of drawings, specifications, and standards
- Authorise and control scope changes, technical amendments, and re-work decisions
- Ensure delivery commitments are realistic, validated, and controlled
- Lead, develop, and support Sales Executives and Technical Processors
- Cross-functional collaboration with internal teams
Required Skills and Experience
- Be confident developing new and existing customer relationships
- Be experienced in engineering / fabrication / manufacturing sales
- Be able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness (margin, risk, delivery realism)
- Be able to work effectively with technical teams to achieve desired outcomes
- Have a proven track record of generating and developing opportunities directly
- Have proven leadership skills, coaching & mentoring
