Job Description

Job Title: Senior Electronics/Firmware Engineer\\n\\nSalary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum\\n\\nLocation: Warwick, UK. Hybrid 2-3 days in our client's Warwick office\\n\\nNicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electronics & Firmware Engineer to join an innovative & award-winning tech client in Warwick.\\n\\nAbout the Role:\\n\\nOur client is looking for a Senior Electronics & Firmware Engineer with experience of embedded software to work on the electronics and firmware for their innovative range of products.\\n\\nYou will be a part of a strong research and development team which includes electronics hardware, embedded software, cloud & backend software and mobile app development. The work you do will be crucial to the success of our client's current and future products in the marketplace.

This is a hands-on role and would need on-site presence around 3 days per week.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\nDesign of robust products from concepts and specifications, bringing innovative solutions to complex problems\\nBringing your experience to bear with hands on development\\nOversee PCB design and layout, ensuring best practice and high-quality results\\nWrite and specify test plans for hardware verification and production testing\\nSupport environmental and EMC testing during qualification\\nPerform circuit analysis including power consumption, component tolerance & reliability\\nCapture and implement design requirements in collaboration with other teams.Essential Skills & Experience:\\n\\nExperience of delivering digital electronics designs from concept to production, preferably with a focus on battery powered, microprocessor-based applications\\nBe technically fluent in hardware with some experience of embedded software\\nOversight of PCB Design & layout\\nFamiliarity with standard interface busses such as SPI, I2C, UART & USB\\nProduct development with regards to DFx (design for safety, testability, and manufacturability)\\nKnowledge of test & verification techniques in support of product lifecycle development\\nExperience of using embedded C on microcontrollers\\nA Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience\\nStrong communication skills, both written & verbal.Desirable Skills/Experience:\\n\\nThese skills/experience are not mandatory but would be an advantage to candidates able to demonstrate any of the following:\\n\\nFull product life cycle development & management\\nExperience with environmental and EMC testing during qualification\\nProduction test development & operation when working with in-house or contract manufacturers\\nExperience with battery powered Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices\\nSome experience of analogue electronics design would be advantageous\\nTechnical fluency in any of the following: Mechanical or industrial design; Manufacturing engineering or factory test setups\\nExperience of certification process such as CE, ISED and FCC.Benefits\\n\\nThe opportunity to work in a dynamic, innovative environment.\\nHybrid working arrangements.\\nA benefits package including: Pension; Comprehensive healthcare through AXA; 24/7 On-line GP support\\nA share scheme\\n25 Days Annual Holiday, plus 8 Public Bank Holidays\\nA supportive team culture with regular team events and professional development opportunities\\nDiscount schemes including software services discounts\\nFree car parking on-site**Please note – our client is unable to provide Visa Sponsorship.
