Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for a CNC Machine Shop Manager, to join a well-established manufacturing client in the Rotherham area.
You will be responsible for managing a 17 machine CNC workshop, with a team of 24 direct reports, allocating programming job tickets & supervising work, production & consistency of quality, prior to inspection.
The machine shop mainly comprises of Fanuc operated DOOSAN/Hwacheon Lathes and Haas VMC’s.
This is a hands-on role in a very busy & fast-paced environment, where you will be expected to operate & programme as required.
We anticipate the role being 80% management & 20% programming.
You must be a skilled CNC Operator on turn & mill lathes.
You will be experienced in
- Writing G code programmes and the use of ONE CNC CAD/CAM software. Transfer of programmes for repeat jobs.
- The use of inspection equipment and the interpretation of measured values, including use of Digital Verniers, Micrometers, Dial Test Indicators and thread gauges, thus ensuring components meet the drawing and high-quality standards of workmanship.
- Leading a team, allocation & prioritisation of workload, providing advice & guidance on technical queries, re-training.
