Position : RF Engineer
Location : West Yorkshire
Salary : £40,000-£80,000 according to experience
Please note : You MUST be able to obtain UK security clearance and as such must be a UK national
The role :
- Perform detailed design and development of many types of RF Components, Systems and Multi-function Assemblies. This may comprise of systems, converters, transceivers, frequency measurement systems, VCOs and synthesizers, detector log video amplifiers, limiters and switches, low noise amplifiers
- Provide technical input to other disciplines to enable project completion
- Support Sales & Marketing with product expertise
- Lead on technical definition & planning of product development projects in conjunction with the Project team throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure that the product requirement is completely captured, and planned as a series of engineering tasks
- Be responsible for the achievement of the requirements, including cost objectives, of each product development project as detailed within the Customer order documents
- Maintain visibility of the design approach and ensure thorough review that the implemented design will meet the product requirement
- To facilitate and encourage appropriate technical discussion and broad communication of new ideas
About you :
- UK Passport holder able to obtain security clearance
- Accomplished RF and Microwave Design Engineer with experience in a broad range of RF design
- Formal qualification in a relevant engineering subject to degree level
- Understanding of mechanical design through development and product transfer
- Experience in the design of complex RF microwave components, systems and sub-systems
- Ideally will have design experience of RF design between 500MHz and 40GHz
- Experienced with EM simulation tools for filter design CST, HFSS etc
- Experience with other microwave design tools AWR, ADS etc
- Assist with the technical classification of products for export
- Knowledge of RF Filter design
- Knowledge of good engineering processes and practices
- Good communication skills – able to understand and report tasks, risks etc
- Team working – both with peers and support staff
