The basics:
- Role: Project Engineer / Project Manager β Aerospace department
- Location: Redditch
- Salary: up to Β£65,000 DOE
- Hours: 39 hours per week working Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 16.30 and Friday 07.30 to 12.30
- Contracted hours: 40 per week
- Direct reports: Project leads x2, Manufacturing Engineers x3, Process Engineer x1, Expeditor x1 and working closely with the Engineering & Manufacturing Manager β senior leadership team
Overview:
We require a Project Engineer to lead and manage the NPDI process through the defined framework, delivering clear plans to meet customer requirements. You will ensure robust project management supports on-time delivery by mitigating risks and implementing recovery actions where needed. The role will also ensure NPDI is delivered into production right first time above 85%, with minimal turnbacks and issues at handover. You will be working in a first-class precision engineering environment that has processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of outsourced processes also.
The ideal candidate may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Experience in delivering projects within the Aerospace sector beneficial OR familiar with precision machining and/or fabrication processes - knowledge in press, weld and machining.
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Capable of working unsupervised and using own initiative.
