This role is a full-on engineering design role and will comprise:
- Heavy engineering equipment design
- Structural steel design and analysis - loads, deflection, buckling etc
- Materials handling design
- Design for fabrication, assembly and installation - weldments, bolted structures etc
- Access, safety and ergonomics design - Working at Height, Machinery directives
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards - guarding, stops, emissions etc
- Load and failure analysis - static, dynamic, FEA etc
- Problem solving and root cause analysis - FMEA, 5 Whys etc
- Materials knowledge, ideally with some exposure to castings / forgings
About You:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar is very much preferred
- Chartered Engineer status beneficial
- Experience of large CAPEX plant projects
- CAD literate
- FEA, CFD, Mathcad
- Able to travel internationally when required
- Clear written and spoken English language skills
