The basics:

- Salary: Up to £52,000 DOE
- Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am-4.30pm) and Fridays (7.30am-2.00pm)
- Contracted hours: 40 per week
- Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 7.5% pension, x4 salary death in service.
Overview: We now require an additional Planning Engineer to join the team. Working in modern, purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture precision engineered components. You will be working in a first-class precision engineering environment that have processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of outsourced processes also.
As the Planning Engineer you will be working in a technical role - writing methods of manufacture, work instructions, planning and owning the part through the shop floor process that consist of precision machining and fabrication. This is a technical role, not hands on, where you will need a strong mechanical engineering understanding so that you can plan the processes required in this high precision environment.
The ideal candidate may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- A strong mechanical engineering background/qualification
- Knowledge of precision engineering processes - CNC machining, Manual Machining, metal fabrication techniques.
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Capable of working un-supervised and using own initiative.
- Good eye for detail with a methodical approach to the task in hand.
Due to the nature of the work and security level of the projects you must be a British National. Commutable from: Ilkeston, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
