Position

Mechanical Operative - Trainee Machine Setter (Permanent, 37.5 hours per week).

Compensation

  • Days: £13.06 per hour
  • Afternoons: £16.32 per hour
  • Night shifts (if required): £17.36 per hour
  • Schedule
  • Days: Mon‑Thurs (apply online only) and Fri (apply online only)
  • Afternoons: Mon‑Thurs (apply online only) and Fri (apply online only) – repeats approximately every 6‑8 weeks; arrangement possible.
  • Night shifts: Mon‑Wed (apply online only) and Thurs (apply online only) if required.

Working in first‑class manufacturing facilities for a company with production sites worldwide we now require an additional Mechanical Operative to join the team.

This is a permanent role employed directly with the company, offering stability, real training and progression.

Responsibilities

You will play a key role in supporting manufacturing by setting and operating manufacturing equipment and machinery, assisting other machine operators, carrying out quality duties, adjusting/replacing tooling, and carrying out general manufacturing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience setting/operating manufacturing machinery in a production environment.
  • Proficient with hand tools such as Allen keys and screwdrivers.
  • Basic computer competency.
  • Measuring skills – using verniers, calipers, etc.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Physically fit.
