Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Residential Groundworks
An established and growing residential groundworks contractor is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join its commercial team in Leicestershire.
Working with many of the UK's leading housebuilders, the business delivers a wide range of residential infrastructure and groundworks packages, including roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, plot works and external works. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, this is an excellent opportunity to join a successful contractor with genuine long-term career prospects.
The Role
This is a varied commercial position, combining both estimating and quantity surveying responsibilities. Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will play a key role from tender stage through to project completion.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing estimates and tender submissions for residential groundworks projects.
Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Producing accurate take-offs and cost plans.
Assisting with subcontractor and supplier procurement.
Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts.
Monitoring project costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
Supporting the successful commercial delivery of multiple projects across the region. About You
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or in a combined commercial role within the construction industry.
Experience in residential groundworks, civil engineering or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
A strong commercial mindset with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Good communication and organisational skills.
A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction (preferred but not essential).
