The Basics

Role: Mechanical Operative - metal finishing

Environment: Manufacturing - Precision Engineering

Location: Redditch

Shift: Lates - Monday to Wednesday (4.30pm to 2.30am) and Thursdays (4.30pm to 1.30am) (39hrs)

Pay: £16.97 - £18.25 per hour - DOE with rates of £19.64 available once trained.

Overtime available at x1.33 Mon-Fri, x1.5 Saturday and x2 Sunday

Holidays/Benefits: Holidays are calculated in hours but work out to be 5.6 weeks of annual leave per year inc. bank holidays, increasing to 6.6 weeks inc. bank holidays following 1 year of continuous service. Death in Service Benefit - 2 x annual salary. Employer 3% / Employee 5% - Pension.

Overview

We now require a Mechanical Operative to join the metal finishing department. As the Mechanical Operative you will be tasked to finish precision engineered metal components working to tight tolerances using hand tools such as hand grinders and metal polishers. This role will be working within the finishing department, fettling, de-burring and polishing metal components with various air powered hand tools.

The ideal candidate

May have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually.

  • Mechanically competent working with air powered hand tools such as hand grinders.
  • Commutable from: Redditch, Alcester, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and surrounding areas.
