Salary: Β£50-60K, commensurate with experience

We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager to join our client's growing team in Leeds. This will be a 'hands-on' role in addition to managing the department & heading up the team responsible for production and assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing department staff spread over 4 sub departments - Laminators, Finishers, Trimmers and Assembly
  • Scheduling work for each department to coincide with the production schedule and aftersales
  • Managing the quantity and regularity of parts produced by external suppliers ensuring quality is of a desired level
  • Managing external suppliers - External stock, lead times and costings
  • Communicating and resolving quality issues as they arise
  • Being responsible for reviewing and ordering stock, raw materials and equipment in good time for required work
  • Ensuring stock is correctly logged throughout the system
  • Ensuring records are kept up to date
  • Following established safety procedures
  • Following established build processes
  • Keeping to an established level of component cleanliness
  • Maintaining a good level of cleanliness within the department
  • Monitoring and planning for future production
  • Maintaining realistic time management

You will have:

  • Experience of laminating, trimming & finishing parts
  • Working with fibre glass, GRP or carbon composites
  • Previous production line and managerial experience
  • A firm appreciation of stock control and the upmost importance of maintaining accurate levels
  • A keen eye for detail, cleanliness and a willingness to follow & drive an established process within a team
  • Experience reading, understanding and working from technical drawings
