We are currently seeking a Paralegal to join a busy and well-established Family Law team based in Prescot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting fee earners with the management of a busy caseload
  • Opening and maintaining client files
  • Providing day-to-day administrative and legal support to the team
  • Liaising with clients, courts, experts, and external agencies
  • Updating clients on case progress
  • Managing appointments and diaries
  • Taking and making telephone calls
  • Preparing court bundles and legal documents
  • Supporting clients both in person and remotely where required
  • Attending court to assist counsel and/or clients
  • Completing legal aid assessments and applications
  • Taking initial instructions from clients

Candidate Requirements

  • Proactive and able to use initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively within a busy team environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet client and business needs
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Previous experience within a Family Law team preferred (minimum 12 months desirable)
  • Experience using Case Management Systems and Laserforms essential
  • Experience using the Legal Aid Agency Portal (CCMS) essential
  • Experience using Excel spreadsheets would be advantageous

Additional Information

The role is based in Prescot. Hybrid working may be considered following successful completion of the probationary period. Please note that the role will require office-based attendance for part of the working week on a long-term basis.
