Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 1pm
Role: 18 month fixed term contract (covering maternity leave)

Overview: Working within a first-class precision engineering business that manufacture components with methods such as CNC Machining, Sheet metal and Fabrication, we now require a Supply Chain Planner to develop the customer and supply chain process.
Brief overview of accountabilities:
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, delivery, and quality terms.
- Manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance and performance.
- Monitor market trends, technologies, and supplier capabilities to anticipate changes.
- Maintain supplier relationships, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through sourcing and process improvements.
- Track savings and cost performance against financial targets.
- Apply procurement best practices to drive efficiency and savings.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Ensure compliance with policies, legal requirements, and regulations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting for direct procurement.
- Enable cross-functional communication to optimise procurement strategies.
- Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.
- Report on savings, supplier performance, and market insights to senior management.
- Leverage procurement tools and analytics for data-driven decisions.
- Support ERP system go-live and adoption.
The ideal candidate Supply Chain Planner may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment that manufacture and assemble components.
- A strong understanding of the Aerospace raw material market desirable.
- Capable user of Microsoft software including Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- An understanding of computerised MRP systems preferred.
- Commutable from: Derby, Burton Upon Trent, Long Eaton, Castel Donington and surrounding areas.
