The basics:

  • Pay: £33,500 to £37,500
  • Contract: 12 months Fixed term
  • Location: Liverpool – near Fairfield
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Fridays early finish
  • Contracted hours per week: 37.5
  • Holidays and Benefits: 33 days plus 1 day for Birthday (34 days total), x2 salary life assurance, free parking and EV charge points onsite

Environment: Manufacturing – Food/FMCG

Overview: Working in a fast-paced FMCG / Food Manufacturing environment we now require a materials planner to join the planning and supply chain department.

Key responsibilities of the Materials Planner role:

  • Overseeing the efficient flow of ingredients, packaging, and externally sourced materials into the business, ensuring agreed inventory levels are maintained and production demands are met without disruption.
  • Execute detailed 12-week material planning, working closely with Planning and Purchasing teams to meet shared objectives.
  • Interpret MRP outputs to manage purchase orders and ensure alignment with business needs through regular parameter and data review.
  • Liaise with suppliers to expedite deliveries, improve OTIF performance, and support resolution of material quality issues.
  • Plan and manage internal material replenishment to maintain continuous supply and proper stock rotation.
  • Collaborate with Transport Planning and Purchasing to drive cost efficiencies in inbound logistics.
  • Oversee internal transfers of raw materials across sites to ensure timely availability for production.
  • Manage co-packing operations, including component supply to third parties and return of finished goods.

The ideal candidate may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • Previous experience in materials planning / supply chain planning role within a FMCG or Food Manufacturing Environment
  • Familiarity with planning systems using integrated ERP
  • Competent in use of standard Microsoft packages and familiarity with first-hand operation of ERP and MRP systems
