An established UK-based manufacturing business is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer / Adviser to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone earlier in their HSE career who is keen to develop in a practical, hands-on role within a busy shop-floor environment.
This position has been created following a recent consultant-led HSE analysis project. The successful candidate will play a key role in addressing identified gaps, implementing practical solutions, and embedding strong HSE practices across the operation. You will be highly visible on the shop floor, working closely with production teams and management to ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are not only met, but continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement actions arising from the recent HSE gap analysis
- Provide hands-on HSE support at shop-floor level
- Develop, review, and maintain accurate HSE documentation, including:
- Risk assessments
- SOPs
- Training records and matrices
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
- ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
About You
- IOSH qualification (essential)
- NEBOSH Certificate (desirable) or actively working towards
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Practical, solution-focused mindset
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Confident in maintaining accurate and auditable HSE records
