Nicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for a Senior NDT Manager (Level 3), to join an established & growing client within the Sheffield area.
You will be responsible for the technical authority, leadership, and operational management of all NDT activities within the department, conducting & overseeing Radiographic Testing, Dye Penetrant / Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, Visual Inspection.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, approve, and maintain NDT procedures, techniques, and operating standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians
- Review and approve inspection results, certifications, and technical documentation
- Ensure testing is performed in accordance with written procedures and applicable standards
- Organise and coordinate audits to maintain compliance with certification requirements
- Coordinate subcontract NDT activities and external inspection services
- Manage production planning within the NDT department
- Ensure technicians meet qualification and certification requirements under NAS410 / EN4179
- Ensure compliance with all applicable NDT standards and regulatory requirements
- Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) where applicable
- Ensure all radiographic operations comply with radiation safety regulations
- Provide technical authority for all NDT procedures and inspections
- Drive continuous improvement within the NDT department
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve inspection processes
Qualifications Required
- Certified to a minimum of Level 3 Radiographic Testing (RT) in accordance with NAS410 and /or EN4179
