An established manufacturing and engineering business is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to support continuous improvement activities across production and quality operations. This role is focused on improving process capability, reducing variability and strengthening quality systems, while supporting both internal teams and customer requirements. Working closely with production, suppliers and quality teams, you will play a key role in driving corrective actions, improving standards and maintaining robust quality processes. You will support day-to-day quality engineering activities across manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and approve ISIR and FAIR documentation prior to customer submission
- Act as the first point of contact for internal quality concerns
- Investigate internal and external non-conformances and implement corrective actions
- Compile and submit PPAP documentation to customers where required
- Provide inspection support during periods of high workload or absence
- Review and approve concessions prior to customer submission
- Conduct regular QA audits across production processes
- Lead and support 8D investigations and root cause analysis activities
- Develop and improve process controls to strengthen manufacturing quality
- Raise and manage Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) and monitor corrective actions through to completion
About You
- Experience within a quality engineering or manufacturing quality role
- Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies including PPAP, FAIR, ISIR, CAPA
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Experience working within manufacturing or engineering environments
- Able to communicate effectively across production, suppliers and customers
- Organised and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
