Salary: Up to £16 per hour + overtime = earnings of £37k and upwards.

The basics:

  • Pay: up to £16 per hour DOE + overtime = earnings of £37,000 and upwards achievable.
  • Overtime: paid at 1.5 Mon-Sat and Double on Sundays.
  • Hours: 39hrs - Mon-Thurs start time between 7am and 8am and finish time between 4pm and 5pm. Fridays finish at 12:00.
  • Holidays and Benefits: Death in Service Benefit - 2 x annual salary, Pension 5% and 3% by employer, Holidays are 5.6 weeks of annual leave per year inc. bank holidays, increasing to 6.6 weeks inc. bank holidays following 1 year of continuous service.

Key responsibilities of the Sheet Metal Worker:

  • Bending, cutting, pressing, riveting, marking out, measuring, assembly, deburring, stretching and inspecting all to tight tolerances.
  • Working to drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Setting and operating machinery supplied for the manufacture of sheet metal components.

The ideal candidate may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • Time Served Apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience working with thin gauge sheet metal.
