Salary: Up to £52,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am-4.30pm) and Fridays (7.30am-2.00pm)
Contracted hours: 40 per week
Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 7.5% pension, x4 salary death in service.
Overview: We now require an additional Planning Engineer to join the team. Working in modern, purpose‑built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture precision engineered components. You will be working in a first‑class precision engineering environment that have processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of outsourced processes also. As the Planning Engineer you will be working in a technical role – writing methods of manufacture, work instructions, planning and owning the part through the shop floor process that consist of precision machining and fabrication. This is a technical role, not hands on, where you will need a strong mechanical engineering understanding so that you can plan the processes required in this high precision environment.
Responsibilities:
- Write methods of manufacture, work instructions, plan and own the part through the shop floor process.
Qualifications/Desirable Skills:
- Strong mechanical engineering background/qualification
- Knowledge of precision engineering processes – CNC machining, Manual Machining, metal fabrication techniques.
- Excellent inter‑personal and presentation skills.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Capable of working unsupervised and using own initiative.
- Good eye for detail with a methodical approach to the task in hand.
Due to the nature of the work and security level of the projects you must be a British National.
Commuting area: Ilkeston, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
