Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am-4.30pm) and Fridays (7.30am-2.00pm)
Contracted hours: 40 per week

Overview: Working within modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities, the Quality Engineer will be working for a precision engineering business that manufactures components and fabrications for the aerospace, nuclear and defence industry.
Brief overview of duties:
- Support the Quality Manager in maintaining certifications.
- Conduct product and system audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
- Compile documentation packs to support product delivery and traceability.
- Provide engineering support for Visual and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine quality standards.
- Apply First Article Inspection techniques in line with AS9102 requirements.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Use quality tools to detect, contain, and investigate non-conformances, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
- Define and apply process control methods, including identifying critical control points and developing work instructions.
The ideal candidate may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- A strong background at implementing quality systems within a precision engineering environment - aerospace/machining/fabrication or similar.
- Experienced in Lean/problem solving techniques (8D), Kaizen.
- Knowledge of 6 Sigma process beneficial.
- Competent/capable of driving quality throughout a large business and manufacturer.
Commutable from Heanor, Ripley, Alfreton, Ilkeston, Derby, Belper, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
