Our client is a leading Tier 1 contractor renowned for delivering major and complex infrastructure projects across the UK. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a flagship National Highways scheme in Coventry.

Your new role

  • As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for key work packages on the project, supporting the delivery of complex civil engineering and infrastructure works.
  • You will work closely with project teams, supply chain partners and senior stakeholders to manage cost, risk and value across the project lifecycle.
  • Full commercial management of earthworks / groundworks packages.
  • Cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Administration of NEC contracts, including change control and compensation events.
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
  • Assessment and agreement of valuations and final accounts.
  • Risk and opportunity management to protect project margins.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members.
  • Working collaboratively with operational and engineering teams to drive value.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure.
  • Strong experience in earthworks and/or groundworks packages.
  • Experience working for a main contractor and/or subcontractor.
  • Good knowledge of NEC contracts (Option C).
  • Confidence managing subcontract accounts, change control and cost reporting.
  • The ability to operate independently and take ownership of your work.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar (or equivalent experience).
