We are seeking a skilled Bench Fitter to support production through the maintenance, repair and manufacture of press tooling. This is a hands‑on position suited to someone confident working independently, with strong finishing and fitting skills - particularly in the polishing of press tools - and the ability to respond quickly to production demands.

A competitive salary is available, alongside day shift working hours. Training and development opportunities can be offered for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Polish, finish and maintain high‑quality standards across production tooling
  • Inspect tools for defects and carry out visual checks to identify areas requiring further polishing or repair
  • Work closely with toolmakers to ensure each stage of the polishing and finishing process is completed in the correct sequence and within required timescales
  • Maintain and repair press tooling to support ongoing production
  • Work with a range of materials, including hardened tool steels
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • City & Guilds Engineering Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Mechanical or general engineering apprenticeship
  • Experience in tool making, tool repair, and JIG Tool & Die maintenance
  • Competence with milling, turning, drilling and tapping equipment, as well as hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret component and tooling drawings
