Ashley Kate are thrilled to be supporting one of our clients as they search for a Chief Accountant to take ownership of financial reporting and accounting. Experience in real estate is advantageous but not essential; however, a proactive mindset and willingness to learn are key.
The Role
As Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of the business, ensuring accurate records, robust reporting, and compliance with relevant standards. You will work closely with other teams to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers across all entities
- Oversee financial reporting, including rent rolls, service charges and lease accounting
- Support accounting for equity investments across private and public markets
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash flow
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal controls
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum 2-3 years' post-qualification experience
- Real estate experience preferred, but not essential
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
- Excellent communication skills and discretion in handling confidential matters
