Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Salary: £55K-58K, inclusive of shift allowance
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Friday: 5:00am - 1:00pm
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - 10:00pm
- Friday: 1:00pm - 9:00pm
- Sunday to Thursday: 10:00pm - 6:00am (night shift)
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis, and reactive breakdown repairs on a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and associated mechanical drive systems.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime across critical manufacturing systems, including investment casting machinery, heat treatment furnaces, vacuum arc remelting (VAR) furnaces, induction skull melting (ISM) furnaces, and air melt induction furnaces.
- Support the installation, commissioning, alignment, and modification of new and existing mechanical equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventative mechanical engineering actions.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support operational targets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety legislation and site-specific EHS standards.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including reliability improvements, downtime reduction, energy efficiency, and equipment upgrades.
- Carry out installation, site improvement, and upgrade work across the site.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pipework, and associated mechanical assemblies.
Your experience:
- Time-served Mechanical Technician or equivalent experience.
- Mechanical maintenance experience gained within a mid-heavy manufacturing, engineering, or similar industrial environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience maintaining a range of industrial plant and equipment.
Your qualifications:
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Maintenance.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Engineering Maintenance, or Mechanical Fitting.
- City and Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Engineering Maintenance, or Mechanical Fitting.
