A leading Civils Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a £4 million external works package at Reading University. The project includes a full range of external and infrastructure works, including:
- Drainage installation
- Block paving works
- Water feature construction
- Car park construction and associated civils works
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the successful delivery of the project from start to completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams effectively
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
- Maintain high standards of quality, health & safety, and compliance
- Attend and lead progress meetings with the client and stakeholders
- Monitor programme performance and provide regular progress updates
- Oversee procurement, labour, and resource planning
Requirements:
- Previous experience delivering civils and external works projects
- Strong understanding of drainage, infrastructure, and groundworks packages
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications preferred
- Ability to manage fast-paced projects and meet tight deadlines
