A leading Civils Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a £4 million external works package at Reading University. The project includes a full range of external and infrastructure works, including:

  • Drainage installation
  • Block paving works
  • Water feature construction
  • Car park construction and associated civils works

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the successful delivery of the project from start to completion
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams effectively
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
  • Maintain high standards of quality, health & safety, and compliance
  • Attend and lead progress meetings with the client and stakeholders
  • Monitor programme performance and provide regular progress updates
  • Oversee procurement, labour, and resource planning

Requirements:

  • Previous experience delivering civils and external works projects
  • Strong understanding of drainage, infrastructure, and groundworks packages
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications preferred
  • Ability to manage fast-paced projects and meet tight deadlines
