Overview: Working for a large manufacturing business that have sites across the globe, we now require a Graphic Designer to join the design office. This is a trainee role where you will be tasked to create and support in print designs. The company manufacture products for some of the worlds most well known brands and your design support will go onto products that will be seen across the world.
Key responsibilities of the Graphic Designer role:
- Manage and prepare customer artwork using a range of design software, overseeing screenwork, trapping, proofing, FTP uploads, and maintaining accurate, well-organised digital plate and file storage.
- Coordinate the full artwork approval process, including uploading proofs to customer portals, issuing detailed plate specifications (colours, technical requirements, and costs), logging samples, and ensuring complete customer sign-off prior to production.
- Support production teams by inputting technical formulas, ordering plate materials, reviewing forward schedules, preparing trial artwork alongside Pre-Press and Print teams, and ensuring all proofing materials are available and correct.
- Drive continuous improvement by supporting the introduction of new plate technologies, maintaining high housekeeping standards within plate areas, and participating in pre-launch meetings with cross-functional production teams.
The ideal candidate may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
- A passion for design - perhaps obtained some design focused education - product design, graphic design etc.
- Worked in a role that is focused towards graphics and artwork for the purposes of branding.
Commutable from Maesteg, Port Talbot, Swansea, Llanelli, Bridgend and surrounding areas.
