- Hours: Monday to Thursday (7.30am-4.30pm) and Fridays (7.30am-2.00pm)
- Contracted hours: 40 per week
- Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 7.5% pension, x4 salary death in service.
Overview
We now require an additional Planning Engineer to join the team. Working in modern, purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture precision engineered components. You will be working in a first-class precision engineering environment that has processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of outsourced processes also.
As the Planning Engineer you will be working in a technical role - writing methods of manufacture, work instructions, planning and owning the part through the shop floor process that consists of precision machining and fabrication. This is a technical role, not hands-on, where you will need a strong mechanical engineering understanding so that you can plan the processes required in this high precision environment.
Ideal Candidate / Planning Engineer may have some of the following:
- A strong mechanical engineering background/qualification
- Knowledge of precision engineering processes - CNC machining, Manual Machining, metal fabrication techniques.
- Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills.
- Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
- Capable of working un-supervised and using own initiative.
- Good eye for detail with a methodical approach to the task in hand.
Due to the nature of the work and security level of the projects you must be a British National. Commutable from Ilkeston, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
