The Role

Working within a busy machine shop environment, you will be responsible for producing high-quality precision-engineered components safely, efficiently and accurately, ensuring customer and production requirements are consistently met.

CNC Miller Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture precision components to exact specifications with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings.
  • Program, set and operate CNC Milling Machines using Heidenhain controls.
  • Create programmes and production methods for new components using Fusion 360 or a similar CAD/CAM system.
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using gauges, measuring equipment and quality control procedures.
  • Support production planning and material ordering activities where required.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in line with ISO9001 standards.
  • Work collaboratively within a team-focused environment and support business objectives.
  • Adhere to all company policies, quality standards and health & safety procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Machinist or Precision Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of machining practices and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience programming and operating Heidenhain controlled CNC machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including both metric and imperial dimensions.
  • Competent in self-inspection and quality checking of finished work.
  • Highly motivated, reliable and able to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting customer deadlines.
