We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding residential groundworks contractor with a turnover of approximately £120 million.

Based in the Oxford/Bicester area, the business delivers high-quality groundwork and infrastructure packages for leading housebuilders across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Trainee Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a successful and growing business.

With continued expansion plans, there is a clear progression pathway to Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced commercial team, you will assist in the commercial management of multiple residential groundwork projects, helping to ensure contracts are delivered profitably and efficiently.

  • Assisting with cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
  • Supporting the preparation of valuations, applications, and final accounts.
  • Measuring and valuing works.
  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management.
  • Supporting contract administration and commercial documentation.
  • Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and clients.
  • Helping to identify commercial risks and opportunities across projects.

About you

  • Experience working within the construction industry (all sectors considered).
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline, or are currently working towards one (although experienced candidates without a degree will also be considered).
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in Quantity Surveying.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport, as travel to sites is required.
