We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior SHEQ Advisor to join a growing Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality team based in Battersea.

Our client is a specialist contractor operating across complex civil engineering, demolition, remediation, earthworks, and infrastructure projects throughout London and the South East.

With a strong reputation for delivering challenging projects safely, sustainably, and efficiently, they are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental management, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and workplace observations.
  • Assist with incident investigations and the preparation of reports.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across project teams.
  • Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements.
  • Monitor site compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Maintain SHEQ records, reports, and documentation.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and support workforce engagement activities.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring and waste management initiatives.
  • Support the collection and reporting of sustainability and environmental performance data.

Essential

  • Health, Safety, Environmental and/or Sustainability qualifications or relevant practical experience.
  • Experience working within a construction environment.
  • Understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with site and office teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence or willingness to travel to project sites.

Desirable

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards).
  • IEMA Foundation Certificate or equivalent environmental qualification.
  • Experience within construction, civil engineering, demolition, remediation, infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
  • Interest in sustainability, carbon reduction, and environmental best practice.
