About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Port Plant Operatives to join a busy and fast‑paced port environment in Immingham. This is a hands‑on role involving the safe operation of heavy plant machinery to support cargo handling and port operations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with plant experience who are looking to work within a dynamic logistics and marine setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a range of heavy plant equipment such as loading shovels, tugs, tippers, ro‑ro and forklifts
- Load and unload bulk cargo from vessels, wagons, and vehicles
- Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance on machinery
- Work collaboratively with port teams to ensure efficient operations
- Adhere to all health & safety regulations and port procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience operating plant machinery
- Valid UK driving licence
- Valid/expired plant tickets/certifications (e.g. CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent)
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends
- Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented attitude
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience working within a port or logistics environment
- Experience with bulk cargo handling
