Tug Driver
Location: Hull
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts | Days, Nights & Weekends
Pay: £15.42 per hour following successful completion of training
About the Role
We are looking for reliable and hardworking Tug Drivers to join our busy operations team in Hull.
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced port and yard environment, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers, containers and units across the site.
You’ll work as part of a busy team, helping to keep daily operations running smoothly while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operating a tug/shunter unit to move trailers and units around the yard
- Supporting loading and unloading operations where required
- Working closely with supervisors and yard teams to maintain an efficient workflow
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
- Reporting any vehicle defects or safety concerns promptly
- Ensuring all vehicle movements are completed safely and in line with site procedures
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Following all company and site health & safety requirements
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who are dependable, safety-conscious and comfortable working in a busy outdoor environment.
Previous experience in the following would be advantageous:
- HGV driving
- Tug or shunter driving
- Yard or port operations
- Trailer movements
- Logistics or transport environments
- Operating large plant or machinery
A full UK driving licence is required. Previous tug/shunter experience is preferred, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
