Stafforce is working in partnership with a well-established, growing business in the South East, looking to appoint a strong Operations Manager to lead their site in Hailsham. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing both warehouse and driver teams, with a strong focus on health & safety, operational control, and team performance.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth delivery across warehousing and distribution while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing warehouse staff and driver teams
- Driving a strict and compliant health & safety culture
- Overseeing operational performance and service delivery
- Managing and developing teams with a firm but fair leadership style
- Handling key customer relationships, including large accounts
- Ensuring productivity, efficiency, and high service levels
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role
- Background managing drivers and warehouse operations
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations - must be confident enforcing standards
- Experience dealing with large or high-value accounts
- A calm, assertive, and structured leadership style
- Someone firm but fair who can command respect and build strong teams
- Typically suited to someone with solid experience (often 15+ years in operations)
Location
Based in Hailsham – must be able to commute by car (site location requires driving). Suitable commuting areas may include Brighton and surrounding areas (up to ~1 hour).
Salary & Benefits
£40,000-£45,000 salary
Performance-related bonuses
25 days holiday + bank holidays
If bank holidays worked = time given back in lieu
