About the Role
Stafforce Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced
Shift Engineer to join their engineering team.

, you will play a key role in maintaining production asset availability, responding to breakdowns, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
You'll work closely with production and operational teams to ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- As a shift engineer you will be responsible for;
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostics.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise downtime.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Own and deliver engineering projects and process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Collaborate with production teams to maximise operational efficiency.
- Promote and uphold Health & Safety and HACCP standards.
What We're Looking For
- To be a successful as a shift engineer you will have;
- Relevant Engineering Qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience within an FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems.
- Ability to lead and own engineering projects from start to finish.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety and HACCP requirements.
- Strong IT and computer literacy skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Self-motivated, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperature environments.
