Senior Site Engineer - Residential Groundworks
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (Negotiable for the right candidate) + Excellent Package including a 4x4 Company Vehicle Are you an experienced Senior Site Engineer looking to join a growing residential groundworks contractor with an excellent reputation and a strong pipeline of work?
We're looking for an ambitious engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, mentoring junior engineers, and playing a key role in delivering high-quality residential developments.
The Role
Working across multiple residential groundworks projects, you'll be responsible for ensuring engineering excellence from inception through to completion.
While you'll still be involved in setting out, each project is supported by a capable Site Engineer, allowing you to focus on the more complex engineering, technical delivery and quality aspects of the project.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Managing all engineering aspects of residential groundworks projects.
- Setting out for earthworks, roads & sewers, plots and Section 278 works.
- Producing and checking QA documentation.
- Creating and managing Leica GPS machine control models using the Con X system.
- Liaising closely with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and clients.
- Reviewing drawings and resolving technical queries.
- Supporting and mentoring developing Site Engineers.
- Ensuring projects are delivered accurately, safely and efficiently.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience working within residential groundworks.

- Experience with Leica GPS Machine Control, including creating models and using the Con X system.
- An understanding of geotechnical principles, including CBR values and earthworks specifications.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as Auto CAD Civil 3D, Brics CAD Pro, or similar.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to mentor and support junior engineers.
