An established organisation in Wiltshire is seeking a Senior Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join its HR team on an interim basis for an initial 3–6 month contract. Working 22.5 hours per week, this role will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing and pensions administration, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while providing expert support on payroll, pension and benefits-related matters.

Based in Wroughton, Wiltshire, this part-time position offers £15.27–£16.12 per hour plus holiday pay, working 22.5 hours per week. This is an immediate-start opportunity on a 3–6 month contract, offering flexibility alongside the chance to make an immediate impact within a supportive HR function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process monthly payroll, including timesheets, expenses, mileage claims and variable pay data.
  • Manage payroll changes including starters, leavers, salary adjustments and statutory payments.
  • Administer pension schemes, including auto-enrolment, monthly submissions and year-end returns.
  • Reconcile payroll and pension data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Act as the first point of contact for payroll and pension-related queries.
  • Produce management reports and maintain accurate employee data within HR systems.
Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience managing payroll processes either in-house or via a payroll bureau.
  • Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments including SSP and SMP.
  • Experience administering workplace pension schemes and providing pension-related guidance.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with strong Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • Experience working with confidential data and maintaining GDPR compliance.
