We have an exciting Part‑time Client Accountant role working for a growing Practice in Chippenham. Niche Recruitment is proud to be partnering with APS Advisory, a modern, relationship‑led firm that is redefining what great accounting looks like. They are now seeking a Client Accountant to join their growing team.
This is a varied and progressive role where you’ll manage a portfolio of SME clients, supporting with bookkeeping, VAT, and year‑end accounts while acting as a trusted point of contact. You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely financial information while gaining exposure to advisory‑led work and developing your career within a supportive, high‑performing environment. Based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, this role can offer flexible hours, the requirement is to be available Monday‑Friday, but reduced hours / school hours will be considered (as long as you can work over the 5 days!). Additional benefits include private healthcare after three months, enhanced holiday including your birthday off and Christmas closure, training support for further qualifications, and a collaborative, no‑timesheet working culture.
Key Responsibilities- Manage bookkeeping and prepare VAT returns for a portfolio of SME clients
- Prepare year‑end accounts to review stage for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Act as a key point of contact for client queries, providing clear and professional communication
- Support clients with cloud accounting systems, primarily Xero
- Ensure all work is accurate, compliant and delivered within deadlines
- Collaborate with the wider team to support workload and client delivery
- Strong experience using Xero (essential)
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment preferred
- AAT Level 3+ or qualified by experience
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping, VAT and year‑end accounts
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients
- A proactive, client‑focused approach with excellent communication skills
