Camera Operator/Editor in Reading

About the job

We’re looking for a sharp, creative and technically confident Camera Operator / Editor to join our growing production team. This is a genuine hybrid role: you’ll be hands-on filming on set and then shaping the work in the edit suite.

Nicely Done is a high-end video and animation agency based in central Reading. We work with brands including Amazon, Vodafone and Canon, producing internal films, branded content, explainers, interviews and social campaigns. Quality matters here – we sweat the details.

What you’ll be doing

• Shooting interviews and B-roll on location, usually as part of a small crew
• Setting up and operating basic lighting setups (you don’t need to be a DOP, but you should be comfortable
• Confident gimbal operation on shoots (DJI RS2 or similar)
• Editing branded films, case studies and social cutdowns in Premiere Pro
• Colour grading to a clean, professional standard (Resolve experience a big plus)
• Prepping, managing and looking after kit (we shoot on RED and Canon)
• Working closely with producers and creative leads from brief through to delivery

Must-haves

• 2+ years’ experience filming and editing branded content
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro
• Comfortable operating professional camera kit (RED experience nice, not essential)
• Confident using gimbals on location
• Organised, technically minded and reliable with media, exports and backups
• Strong attention to detail and ability to turn work around quickly
• Team-first mindset – you’ll always be part of a crew, never thrown in solo
• Full UK driving licence (you’ll use your own or hire vehicles for shoots)

Nice-to-haves

• After Effects skills for simple motion graphics and text animation
• Experience delivering social-first formats (vertical, square, etc.)
• Knowledge of RED workflows
• Confidence grading in Resolve or using Lumetri
• Audio mixing skills a bonus

Location & Setup

• Full-time, permanent role
• Hybrid working: 2–3 days per week in our Reading office (1 minute from the station), remainder remote
