Join NICE as a Senior Analyst to support guidance and evaluation of Artificial Intelligence for transforming the work of NICE! Do you have a passion for innovation and transformation? NICE is seeking a Senior Analyst to drive forward our organisational evolution by harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) for the core functions of NICE. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping NICE's future, ensuring we maximise AI's capabilities to enhance our ways of working, improve efficiencies, and support evidence-based decision‑making. In this role, you will support strategic initiatives that integrate AI into NICE's processes, working collaboratively across teams to identify and capitalise on opportunities for transformation. The ideal candidate will have a strong grounding in research methods as well as the ability to support evaluations or pilots of artificial intelligence tools. Main duties of the job:
- Supporting evaluations, analysing data and disseminating findings in collaboration with partners in the UK and internationally.
- Supporting development and writing of new guidance for AI and real‑world methods.
- Working with colleagues across NICE to identify and prioritise areas where methodological research is needed.
- Working with colleagues across NICE to encourage the implementation and adoption of research or evaluation findings in NICE's methods and processes.
- Developing applications for research funding in collaboration with partners in the UK and internationally.
- Engaging with stakeholders and partner organisations.
The team adopts a flexible approach, meaning that the post holder will work on multiple projects and activities at any one time and that specific tasks assigned to the post‑holder may change in response to business needs.

The Science Evidence and Analytics (SEA) Directorate is responsible for ensuring that NICE uses the best available evidence in its guidance to support decision makers across health and care. The Real‑world Evidence Methods team provides leadership in real‑world evidence to ensure NICE uses the best and most appropriate evidence in supporting its guidance and products. Recently, the team has led on developing NICE's Statement of Intent for artificial intelligence which sets out NICE's intention to develop our approach to:
- Providing guidance for technology developers on best practice for artificial intelligence (AI)‑based methods to support the evidence generation for their technologies;
- Evaluating AI‑based technologies for use in the NHS;
- Exploring the use of AI‑based tools in our own internal processes.

Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Masters degree (or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and training/development) in one of more of the following fields: health economics, health outcomes research, medical statistics, epidemiology, software evaluation or another relevant health‑related discipline.
Experience:
- Experience of working in a research setting and of developing, conducting and project‑managing multiple research projects across a wide range of topics.
Knowledge:
- Specialist knowledge of research methodology, including primary and secondary research techniques, and health technology assessment or guideline development.
Skills:
- Ability to identify priorities, develop projects and work with external researchers and stakeholders to ensure the outputs meet a high standard.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence methods as applied to health care research or for evidence generation to support the evaluation of AI‑enabled technologies.
