Overview
In this role you design, operate and optimize scalable AWS cloud environments and container workloads to improve reliability, security and performance. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps and platform teams to evolve deployment processes and governance. The position offers hands-on influence across cloud infrastructure, databases and observability in a collaborative, engineering-driven culture. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate scalable, secure AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS/Aurora, S3, VPC, IAM)
- Manage containerized workloads on EKS and ECS, including cluster operations, networking, scaling and troubleshooting
- Maintain production Linux environments through admin, performance tuning, storage, networking and incident resolution
- Maintain and optimize PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis) with high availability and DR readiness
- Strengthen cloud security posture via IAM, network controls, secrets management and compliance best practices
- Enhance observability with monitoring/logging/alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus and Grafana
- Lead production incident response, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps and platform teams to improve deployment and reliability
- Identify and implement cloud cost optimization through right-sizing, capacity planning, automation and governance
Key requirements
- 4–5 years in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering or SRE
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS/Aurora, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch)
- Production experience with EKS and ECS (cluster lifecycle, node groups, networking, autoscaling)
- Strong Linux administration with scripting and system and storage management
- Terraform expertise; Puppet for configuration management
- Relational DB experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS/Aurora) and NoSQL familiarity (DynamoDB, Redis)
- CI/CD exposure (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
- Observability tooling knowledge (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Bachelor’s in CS/IT preferred; AWS DevOps Engineer or CKA certifications preferred
